Latest Updates Mirror, Mirror Trailer

Last week we got a glimpse of Universal’s Snow White And The Huntsman directed by Rupert Sanders. The first trailer for Tarsem Singh’s take on the fairy tale arrived today. Relativity’s Mirror Mirror will make it to theaters March 16 ahead of Universal’s version set for June 1.The trailer for “Mirror Mirror,” Relativity Media’s take on the Snow White story as directed by Tarsem, has arrived online. And that means that the official Snow White Movie-Off — in which “Mirror Mirror,” which arrives in March, and “Snow White and the Huntsman,” releasing in June, are relentlessly compared and contrasted — can begin.

Last week’s trailer for “Huntsman,” which stars Kristen Stewart as Snow White and Charlize Theron as the evil queen who banishes her, adopted a decidedly serious tone.

“Mirror Mirror” is quite different. Although also visually striking, its trailer suggests the film will lean more toward camp and comedy than intense sword fights. I mean, Julia Roberts’s over-the-top approach to the role of Evil Queen alone makes that clear. If “Snow White and the Huntsman” has a “Lord of the Rings” vibe, “Mirror Mirror” — at least based on the trailer — plays more like a cross between “The Princess Bride” and “Moulin Rouge,” minus the music.

Watch the “Mirror Mirror” clip below, then revisit the “Snow White and the Huntsman” preview after the jump and vote for the one you prefer.
