Complete Report Matt Schaub Out For Year

That's what a "league source" has told Adam Schefter, anyway. Schefter goes on to say that Matt Schaub suffered a Lisfranc injury, though we don't know the extent or specifics of what happened, except that Schaub sustained the injury on that QB sneak against Tampa yesterday.

Much more to come on this, I'm sure. In terms of my reaction, it's very simply as follows:

Complete Report Matt Schaub Out For Year:Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub will miss the rest of the season with a Lisfranc injury, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.Your Houston Texans have already won 7 games, and the remaining schedule appears kind enough that it won't derail the first playoff appearance in franchise history. At the moment, however, I have a hard time envisioning a scenario where the Texans win a playoff game with Matt Leinart under center.  That feeling is subject to change, but that's where I'm at now.

If this is true, and Schaub is in fact lost for the year, it's a game-changer.  But it doesn't mean the season is over, and it doesn't mean the Texans are done.  All we can do is hope for the best and hope that a returning Andre Johnson, the two-headed RB monster that is Arian Foster and Ben Tate, and Wade Phillips' freakish defense can do what they do to a point that the Texans can overcome what is undeniably a massive setback.

In the meantime, here's wishing Matt Schaub a speedy and full recovery.
