Sunday Night Football Patriots Vs. Jets

Sunday Night Football Patriots Vs. Jets:Best change of pace: After Rob Ninkovich’s first interception midway through the third quarter, the Patriots [team stats] offense put the pedal to the metal on an 8-play, 57-yard drive. Featuring the no-huddle, Rob Gronkowski capped it with a 5-yard touchdown for a 23-9 lead.

Best free agent signing: For all of the attention paid to Chad Ochocinco and recently released Albert Haynesworth, Andre Carter has been the best offseason acquisition. The defensive end had a team-record 41⁄2 sacks, doubling his season total to a team-leading nine.

Worst insult to injury: Sterling Moore was flagged in the second quarter for unnecessary roughness. The bigger problem was Moore made more contact with teammate Devin McCourty; McCourty left the game with a reportedly separated right shoulder.Best celebration: Deion Branch gets points for creativity with his celebration after his fourth-quarter TD catch, mimicking the moves of Jets superfan Fireman Ed.

Worst hands: Take your pick of any number of Jets. Returner Joe McKnight muffed a punt early in the third quarter and a pair of teammates botched opportunities to fall on the loose ball. The Pats recovered on New York’s 12-yard line, setting up a field goal.
